Girls Only

We've gone pink, purple and slightly more organized. The girls are in hog heaven to have a room upstairs, with their own bathroom instead of sharing with the 5 boys downstairs. Granny and Grandad Skidmore just might want their room back now!!!! Ahhh well I think they are happy with John Taylor's house in Nauvoo for now!

Nothing real new or expensive but alas PINK! Granny would be proud.

Cross Country

North Star Charter School is considered a 2A Middle and High School. As a cross country team, that means traveling all over the valley to meets. My 12 passenger has come in handy over the past several weeks. Unfortunately, the first meet of the season, I had to be in three different places at once. While on splits with the sister missionaries, I got a call from a mother who happened to give my two boys a ride. She sounded a little disheveled as she explained that one of my boys had just lost his lunch and breakfast all over her van.

I felt so bad that I rushed to drop off my companion and zoomed the 15 minutes out to pick up Micah. Sure enough the mess was unexplainable and Micah was still green around the gills. UgggWeek two went soooo much better and both boys had the best race of their lives. They raced against at least 15 other schools, which made for fierce competition.

We bought school snow cones, let the little boys (Gideon and Thomas) play in the dirt and stream, and waited around for the very last runner to come in. It turned out to be a beautiful day together.

Court of Honor

James and Micah were both recognized for their achievments in Scouts this past month. They both advanced in rank and earned a slug of badges (more sewing). Hopefully by this time next summer we will have an Eagle Scout and almost two. (Do I really have 5 boys?)

They are both such nice young men and I am really proud of the way they conduct themselves and their work ethic.

Brother Wasden and Brother Douglas are both so vested in my boys that we couldn't do it without them.

Saturday Chores

A call went out to all of the Eagle Stake to come work on a Saturday morning. An abandoned development had become an eye sore to the community of Star. There was a huge showing of willing workers and Scott and James had a good time together. James said he worked harder then he ever has before. (They made a 14 and older age group, but we slipped him under the radar). It is amazing how easy work is when it is not at your own home.
